This print depicts the view from the window of a Yoshiwara brothel. In the distance, a group of worshippers can be seen approaching Otori Shrine, which is situated between some rice fields in Asakusa. The shrine held its annual festival on days of the rooster every November. This was believed to bless visitors with an “eagle’s grip” on career success, good fortune and prosperity in business.
